Bear Paw Speaker Series: New England K9 Search and Rescue

Jeanne Menard, a search and rescue dog specialist, will demonstrate how canines are trained and used for rescue work.  After watching a short video called HikeSafe, she will discuss how NOT to get lost in the woods.  Guests will be delighted to meet Blaze, a certified New England K9 Search and Rescue (NEK9SAR) dog, as it demonstrates how a canine is most effective in locating a person out of place.  Jeanne works with NEK9SAR, an all-volunteer organization whose mission is to assist law enforcement, specifically NH Fish and Game and Vermont State Police, at no cost, in locating lost or missing persons.  For more information, visit their website:  http://nek9sar.org/

This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Hooksett Library, and Gosselin Insurance.
