Science Kits for Loan

Explore Science at home with our new science kit collection! The kits are designed for hands-on learning and come with the tools and resources to make learning fun and easy. Kits are available for Hooksett cardholders to borrow, and completing a borrower’s agreement form (attached to the bottom of this page) as part of the lending process is required.

Science Kit Lending Program Overview


  • Kits must be checked out from the Hooksett Library.
  • Borrowers are required to sign a Library of Things waiver as part of the lending process.
  • Kits will be assessed by a staff member prior to checkout to ensure all pieces are in the kit.
  • Kits must be returned to a staff member at the circulation desk of the Hooksett Library where staff will inspect the kit contents.
  • If any piece of a set is lost, the patron will be charged the replacement cost plus a $5.00 non-refundable processing fee for the lost or damaged item. Prices are listed in the catalog and included in each kit.
  • Patrons may place holds using the catalog but must select the Hooksett Library for pickup location.
  • Kits checkout for 2 weeks, 1 renewal is possible if the kit is not on hold for another patron.
  • Late fees accrue at $1.00 per day.
  • The library will replace consumables at no fee: For example, wet wipes, balloons or straws.
